NEW INDEPENDENT VOTERS OF
AMERICA TV SPOT
ENCOURAGES VOTER PARTICIPATION
Oct. 29, 2004 (Minneapolis,
MN) Independent Voters of America today premiered
a new television advertisement entitled, “They
Can’t Vote. You Can.” Intended to motivate
every registered voter to vote in the upcoming election,
it captures viewers’ attention by reminding them
that lives have been lost protecting Americans’
right to vote.
“In an election this close, every
advertisement, every speech, every event can make a
difference,” said Bill Hillsman, a founding member
of Independent Voters of America and Chief Executive
Officer and Chief Creative Officer of North Woods Advertising.
“Independent Voters of America hopes to inspire
all citizens to exercise their right to vote and express
their voice. Our new ad reminds Americans that voting
is the most basic duty of informed citizens, and that
many of our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters,
and fathers and mothers have died to protect that right.”
Written by screenwriter Scott Burns,
directed by Mike Palmieri, edited by Dan Swietlik at
Cut & Run, with music by Philip Glass and produced
by Dan Adler, A Band Apart Productions, and North Woods
Advertising, the ad is targeted to independent and undecided
voters in battleground states such as Florida, Ohio,
Pennsylvania and New Mexico, as well as the key upper
Midwest swing states of Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.
It will run throughout the final weekend of the campaign
season.
The television spot can be viewed at www.independentvotersofamerica.com.
